It is an excellent idea to include both open houses and college tours in your college exploration. The open house allows you to see many of the activities available on campus while the traditional college tour lets you experience the college in a more typical environment. Clicking on the college’s name will take you to their “Visit” page, where available. Most schools are now offering in-person and virtual events, both of which tend to require pre-registration. This list is not exclusive.

When planning your campus visits, make sure to allow time to explore each college. While you’re there, talk to as many people as possible. These can include college admission staff, professors and students.
The following checklist recommends things you should do or look for when visiting a college campus, as well as questions to ask during your visit. Note that some activities, such as meeting with an admission officer or staying overnight in a dorm, may need to be set up in advance.

We will retain the optional community disruption question within the Writing section. Additionally, we are closely following the Supreme Court case on the use of race in admissions. Summer programs offer you the opportunity to explore a specific subject of your choosing. This is a great opportunity for you to test-drive a field of study that you’re interested in, or one that you have considered pursuing as a college major.
Participating in a High School Summer Program not only teaches you new information and skills, but it can also make you a more attractive candidate for admission into your top-choice schools.
This type of experience will take you out of your comfort zone. In college, you will be challenged to step outside of the box and adapt to something completely different. Take advantage of the following summer programs listed in the attached document.
Link your College Board and Khan Academy accounts to access free, personalized practice on Khan Academy. By following three simple steps, you’ll be able to start practicing for the SAT with a focus on the areas you need the most help in.
1. Go to satpractice.org Create an account on Khan Academy, or sign into your existing account.
2. Link Your Accounts: When prompted, agree to link your Khan Academy and College Board accounts.
3. Send Your Scores: Log in to your College Board account, and hit “Send” to get a personalized practice plan.
WANT TO PLAY COLLEGE SPORTS?
You need to be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school. You must create a Certification Account to make official visits to Divisions I and II schools or to sign a National Letter of Intent.
There is at least one SUNY campus that will meet the academic and personal goals of virtually every student.
